This directory documents music written, arranged, or recorded for the eight-string Brahms Guitar.

The present version is an initial verified selection and will expand through research and evidence-backed contributions.

Editorial Method

Entries are classified by their documented status. A published edition, an unpublished manuscript and a recorded arrangement are different kinds of evidence and are not presented as interchangeable.

Dates refer to composition, revision, publication, premiere or recording only when that relationship is clear. Material that is reported but not sufficiently verified remains in an internal review list and is not displayed here.

Arrangement for Brahms Guitar, 2004. Developed as part of O’Toole’s Master’s thesis at the Dublin Institute of Technology.

Arrangement for Brahms Guitar and harp, 2025. Music by Claude Debussy, Manuel de Falla and Isaac Albéniz; developed by Giacomo Copiello with harpist Letizia Pellanda as part of a Master’s thesis in Chamber Music at the Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Pedrollo in Vicenza.

How the Directory Will Grow

Future entries will document composer, title, year, instrumentation, status, publisher or manuscript location, premiere, performer, recording and supporting sources where these details are available.

The archive particularly welcomes information about editions currently in print, manuscripts held by composers or performers, works whose scoring is not explicit, and recordings absent from commercial catalogues.
